Apex Legends is coming to mobile in the near future, which will launch on Android & IOS Platforms. This article introduces the release date of Apex Legends Mobile, and the price & what we want to see in this new game.
Let's start with the price: we'd very much expect Apex Legends Mobile to be free. No official release date has been confirmed, but it was suggested at the publisher's earnings call that it is expected in EA's fiscal years 2021, which starts in October 2020. We'll likely hear more information in the coming months, but the best place to expect information is at E3 2020. With the first anniversary of Apex Legends scheduled for the 4th February, it wouldn't be a surprise to see it arrive just in time.
EA published its Q4 FY20 Highlights and Financial Results this week, and within the document, there's a line that reads the company will launch 'two mobile games' during this financial year. Andrew Wilson, CEO of Electronic Arts, stated that although there's no specific announcement regarding the game, EA will continue to develop the franchise. Blake J. Jorgensen, CFO of Electronic Arts, added that the publisher is working with teams in Asia to continue development of the mobile version of the game, and notes that because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the company's plans may take a little longer to complete.
Cross-play for mobile devices
This is an easy one, and something we expect you'll be able to do when it launches. We'd love for cross-play to be supported by Apex Legends Mobile, but just across mobile devices. It wouldn't be fair to be competing against those on console or PC, but it'd be great if Android players could be mixed in the same matches as those on iOS. That's especially the case as the people you want to meet up with and play online may have differing devices.
More information about Apex Legends Mobile
The game is in development with some unknown secret partner in china. Many have suspected that the secret company is none other than Tencent. Tencent is responsible for the mobile version of Pubg and Call of duty Mobile.
Epic originally released Fortnite on mobile phones, and PUBG Mobile and the recent "Call of Duty: Mobile Phone”. So, it is not surprising that EA introduced Apex Legends to the mobile, although it will join the increasingly crowded market.
