Bethesda is bringing custom servers to Fallout 76, called Custom Worlds servers. Players with active Fallout 1st memberships can now choose the Custom Worlds option to create a new type of Private World in Fallout 76.
 
Fallout 76’s “Significant new feature” teased a while back turned out to be private servers called “Fallout Worlds,” a significant new feature indeed seeing how players have been waiting on this exact thing to release for some time now. It’s not quite ready to launch just yet, but this week during Bethesda’s QuakeCon event, we got to learn more about these private servers and how they’ll function in the game.
 
One caveat to know before hopping into the Fallout Worlds details is that you have to have a Fallout 1st membership if you want to take full advantage of the feature. Those with a Fallout 1st membership will be able to build their own custom servers full of personalized settings before inviting others or opening their worlds up for people to join. Those without Fallout 1st memberships will be able to take part in Bethesda-curated worlds for free.
 
The menu screen showing the Fallout Worlds option indicates that they’ll be for up to a maximum of eight players and won’t share progression with the normal Adventure mode. Naturally, you also won’t be able to pick up account rewards while playing in Worlds, going by the clip. The range of customisation get a showing in the preview, and they do look extensive. You can tweak all the basics, like difficulty, damage (dealt and received), enemy spawn options, infinite ammo, and the like, but there are also more specific customisation offerings, like CAMP placement, height, and budget settings. There are also dismemberment levels (one in the clip is set to “always ‘bloody mess'” – yikes), power armour drain, and map location reveal settings to tinker with.
 
"Combine unlimited combat AP and infinite ammo to become a mighty wasteland warrior, configure creature spawns for serious big game hunting, control weather effects such as fog, nuclear radiation, or even Quantum Storms, turn on absurd jumping heights (just remember to turn off fall damage), enable ragdoll physics, change the height limit on settlements… all this and more are yours to play and experiment with as you see fit," says Bethesda's announcement. "Utilizing a wide list of customizable settings, players can construct C.A.M.P.s in previously restricted areas or even remove the need for electricity to establish a builder’s paradise."
