How to Invite & Add friends in Diablo 2 Resurrected and Play Multiplayer
Follow the simple steps below to invite and add friends and play with them in Diablo 2 Resurrected. Note that you can only play with friends online and there is no option to play couch co-op or via LAN.
Choose your character on the main menu.
Ensure that the Online tile is highlighted.
Click on the Lobby button beside Play.
Now you need to click on “Create Game” in the new menu.
Type in your Game Name, for your friend to search.
You can type in a password to make your game Private.

Cross-Play & Cross-Progression in Diablo 2: Resurrected
Unfortunately, cross-play is not an option in Diablo 2: Resurrected. Players can only play with other people on the same platform as them. Cross-progression is an option, however. Players are able to resume play of their online characters across multiple platforms by linking the respective platforms to their Blizzard account. For example, a PC player could log off and continue playing the same character on their Nintendo Switch. Cross-progression is currently the only way to play your characters with friends on a different platform, with the drawback of having to buy another copy of the game.
 
Does Diablo 2 Resurrected have co-op?
Diablo 2 Resurrected features up to eight players co-op over Battle.net, Blizzard’s free online gaming service. You have the option to set the max amount of players when creating a game lobby. Additionally, you can set the max level difference for players in each game.
