The first week of the $30 million Fortnite World Cup qualifiers begins on Saturday, April 13, and now the first winners of the Fortnite World Cup Open Qualifiers have been announced. Those players can now enjoy the sweet share of the $1 million prize pool and continue leading up to the Fortnite World Cup in New York City from July 26-28. When does the Fortnite World Cup Start?
Week 1 Fortnite World Cup qualifiers began on last Saturday, April 13. Here’s the full schedule of start times courtesy of Epic Games. In short, tournaments will run from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time.
Europe – 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. GMT
NA West – 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. PDT
NA East – 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. EDT
Brazil – 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. BRT
OCE – 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. AET
ASIA – 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. JST
Competitive players from all around the world will be queing up in order to get a shot at the main event which boasts a major $30 million prize pool. Each week, top players who got the top spots of the weekly competition in their respective regions will have $1 million up for grabs, totaling to an extra $10 million available.
There will be ten weeks of qualifier play leading up to the Fortnite World Cup in New York City from July 26-28.
Finally, only 19 players in the world will already get spots at the World Cup Finals in June. —eight players will be from Europe, eight from North America (two from West and six from East servers), one from Brazil, one from Asia, and one from Oceania.
How do you watch the Fortnite World Cup qualifiers?
Basically, there are two main ways. One is to use the in-game spectator client. Fans who still don’t know how to use the in-game client, here is a guide to make you clear.
Launch Fortnite Battle Royale
Select the “Compete” tab on the top menu bar
Locate and select the region you would like to view
Scroll through the list and find the player you would like to spectate
If the player has a red “live” icon, you can then view their in-game perspective.
The other way is to watch the events unfold on Fortnite’s official Twitch channel. Unfortunately, Epic has run into some production issues, so the stream is offline for now.
This qualifier is open to anyone who’s attained the Champion League rank for Arena Mode in Solos. Thousands of the best Fortnite players in the world will be logging in at the same time to fight for ultimate glory. All qualifiers will take place at 4pm local time in each region. The rules for today’s Fortnite World Cup action are quite simple. Players must try to score as many points as possible in Solos during the three-hour tournament. Points are earned the following ways:
Victory Royale: 10 Points
Second-Fifth Place: Seven Points
Sixth-15th Place: Five Points
16th-25th Place: Three Points
Eliminations: One Point each
