Hi, Fortnite fans, here’s a big news for you: New information has surfaced that points to a brand new in-game event called "Ice Storm" coming soon to Fortnite Battle Royale. A new list of “Ice Storm Challenges” have been doing the rounds online, suggesting that Epic Games will be following up on their 14 Days of Fortnite.
 
Ice Storm Challenges Updates
 
So far, data miners have found in-game files that hint at the Ice Storm event, including several images, animations, and a new set of challenges that will seemingly unlock at various points during the event. Here are seven out of the thirteen challenges leaked online, as you can check in the list below.
 
Complete Ice Storm Challenges
 
Deal damage to the Ice Legion
Deal damage to the Ice Legion in a single match
Deal damage with Explosive Weapons to the Ice Legion
Deal damage with Assault Rifles or Pistols to the Ice Legion
Deal damage with Shotguns or SMGs to the Ice Legion
Destroy an Ice Shard in different matches.
 

As you can see from the above list, most challenges feature requirements mostly involving dealing damage to certain things via certain types of weapons.As for the rewards for completing challenges, some those have been leaked as well. For example, completing the first challenge will earn you the new Blue Metallic Wrap. If you complete all 13 Ice Storm challenges , you will get this really cool Winter's Thorn Glider, as you can check above.
 
Since these are just leaks at this point, nothing is entirely confirmed and all of this could change by the time the Ice Storm event goes live. However,  it appears that the Ice Storm event is closely tied to the mysterious floating ice sphere that has appeared above Polar Peaks after the v7.20 update. According to game files leaked by prominent data miner Lucas7Yoshi, the sphere will shatter at some point to cue the start of the event.
 
Of course all of this is unofficial news and should be treated as nothing but speculation until there is confirmation or an announcement from Epic Games regarding this potential upcoming in-game event.
